My name is Lance. I'm a 21 year old boy from Texas. I don't post a ton on my blog, I don't like to overload your dash, so don't worry about floods, I just post once or twice a day.
Hope you enjoy my blog, feel free to message me, I love meeting new people. :3
New sketch challenge I made for myself, that I’m probably never ever going to finish, but it’s a challenge atleast. I’ll post the challenge in my next post, but here’s the first drawing:
Prismacolor “Yellowed Orange”
started off as a really gestural sketch and was built from there!
The eyes of Discord
I know you all know about my obsession with purple hair, but you may not know about my obsession with yellow eyes. Also I really wanted to draw laurels. Here’s a quick doodle! Hope you enjoy.
Rethink #6
Been a while since I did one of these! My dear friend Brittany suggested I tackle a “Rethink” version of the Teletubbies. I kind of fell in love with the idea. So here is my rendition of the little children’s characters.
Day 62 - The Finale
I tricked you!! I finished the last one of the last section, but I left one page left to do a thank you, Specifically for all my tumblr followers. I’m so fortunate to have as many people follow this project as I do. You guys stuck with me through thick and thin, and even in my leaves of absences. So, as a Thank you, I drew the most “liked” out of each section in one finale Image — Seriously, thank you, especially to those who kicked my butt into gear when I was slacking.
Day 61
Well Dang… This is the last drawing of the last section… I drew a Fairy/pixie. I’m not really sure what the difference between the two is, other than pixies are generally seen as more mischievous. Maybe the little creature is or isn’t I guess it’s up for interpretation. I don’t really know what to say haha. Thanks so much to everyone who stuck with me through this project. It took twice as long as I anticipated and planned for it to, but now that I finished up this section it’s kind of emotional… (I feel silly!) Anyway, Onward to more exciting things! I know you’ll all love the next book I make!
Day 60
Today I looked up some Americana folklore and found the Hodag! It was this big Hoax that got blown up about a fake animal that had the head of a toad, body of a wolf, and horns like a dinosaur! It was quite fun to draw, and reminds me of some of the earlier sketches!
Day 59
Today I drew a Golem! These are animated figures made out of inanimate materials, usually clay, rocks, mud, etc. I chose to make a rock and crystal Golem, because I think that would be pretty beautiful and scary! Let’s say the gems are Zycron. Or pink Sapphire. Enjoy! P.S. It has pretty much been decided that I’ll print both a hardcover and paperback version of the book. This is primarily due to cost issues. The hardcover ones will be super nice, but they’re going to run at about $20.00 plus shipping. I’m not doing that to make a profit, because Honestly I really won’t be making a profit off of the hardcovers. The paperbacks will run anywhere from 12-15$ depending on how many I print. The more people that want them, the cheaper they get. I’ll be opening up a paypal this weekend for those who want to pre-order, and all the pre-orders will come with a free print of your choice, and your book will be handsigned! :D Drop a note if you’re interested!
Day 58
So I’m kinda running out of mythical animals. I’m trying to stray away from human hybrids, so no centaurs or mer-folk; but this is kinda causing me to hit a sort of tangent of mythical creatures that aren’t humanoid, but aren’t too similar to each other, but I found this creature, a Amphisbaena, which is a two headed snake, but I found it interesting that in a lot of interpretations, the Amphisbaena was depicted as half bird, so I went with it! Hope you enjoy! (Ps, currently working on the layouts for the book to be published, I think you guys are going to love it! Remember to contact me if you’re interested in purchasing a copy! I may set up a paypal to do pre-purchasing to help pay for the printing, and if you pre-purchase, you can get a print of your favorite drawing! :D)
